I also really like the way they draw on it, It's just to bad they don't have a three year old there to draw on it with them. Well that's enough about that! Your favorite viewer! Music This afternoon, after watching WKBT at noon I began to pay more attention to the music that both WKBT and WXOW use. I am pretty sure that News 19 has had the same music since thier Cartoon makeover. The music that WXOW uses hurts my ears, and I want to run into a wall when I hear it! It seems that news 19 uses the same music for each time there station comesback on? Wierd huh? I am not a real fan of the music. It sounds like my son made it on his computer. Like the set, they need something else. And WKBT got that new retro music a few months ago. I also want to hit a wall when I hear it. Is it something about tv music. It is just to yukkie! I hope you understand, I am not really a music kind of person. Your favorite viewer! Stuck in the past. After watching News 19 last night I began to wonder about that set they have.
Cate's Corner: It's a Shame. When someone says they're ashamed of you for something you did or didn't do, it makes you feel awful. You question your actions;... maybe wish for a do-over. Nobody likes feeling shame. And yet, some believe it's okay to shame others for not getting immunized for Covid-19. Polls show millions of Americans don't plan to get vaccinated. As a result, they are being criticized for not doing their part. I believe, vaccine shaming is a shame. Let me be clear, I support the vaccine effort. According to the CDC we need between 70 and 90 percent of the population to be fully vaccinated before we reach herd immunity and curb the spread. Right now, we're at 24 percent. We have a long way to go. Barriers to access is still a problem for some. Others don't trust the vaccine. Could there be long-term side effects? The CDC putting a hold on the Johnson and Johnson vaccine didn't help. Fear is real. But so is misinformation and political division. Telling people, they are wrong, stupid, or un-American doesn't help.
Something went wrong, but don't fret — let's give it another shot.
ABC affiliation was lost to La Crosse-based WXOW when it hit the waves in 1970. The studio facilities in the downtown La Crosse used by WKBH and WKBT got destroyed on April 16, 1965 by the heavy flooding; Channel 8 rebuilt the station structure on the same site later. In 1970, the WKBT-DT was purchased by Gross Telecasting owned by Harold F. Gross who also owned WJIM-AM-FM-TV in La Crosse. Backe Communications in 1984 acquired the station from Gross as the former faced a licensing dispute with WJIM (later WLNS-TV). WKBT and WLNS were released to Young Broadcasting in 1986 by Backe Communications. In March 2000, Young transferred the channel to Morgan Murphy Media. WKBT in the summer of 2011 became the first broadcaster in the La Crosse/Eau Claire Market to broadcast news-bulletins in 16:9 HD. The transmitter of the service located about 30 miles north of its facility is meant to throw its signal to the entire market. Programming WKBT notable syndicated programs include The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Dr. Oz Show and Entertainment Tonight local, regional national and world news, weather updates, sports stories, educational programs, lifestyle and entertainment programming, community events and updates, features, shareable stories, contests and more is available online.
It is all that I can remember. Even when they had that ugly blue logo they still had the wooden pillars protruding from the background. It looks like a set that was build in the early `90's. And they just repainted it purple when Cartoon network remade their logo. I wouldn't be surprised if the set was rotting behind the anchors. But then again most likely it isn't even real wood. And the purple! Did barney and his crew paint the thing? Ugly. I think it is time for an up grade. I know they have the new Live at five set, but it isn't much better. It looks like Dave is 3 feet tall with that TV screen behind him when he does the Healthy Living reports. Your favorite viewer! FAKE! It is time to point out the fake monitors on News Channel 8. I have seen this for some time, and I think I should make a comment about it. I could only find 2 real TV screens behind the anchor desk. And one of them looked to be playing CBS stuff from the big network. The other one was playing that crafty background Channel 8 made up.
